How to make Pink Velvet Apple Waffles

Pink velvet apple waffles are a fun and unique recipe to serve on Galentines Day and Valentines Day. Also at Easter, Mothers Day, or a girls birthday, it goes in line with spring. The color pink adds a beautiful touch to this breakfast classic in many countries.

This waffle recipe can be made both glutenfree and dairyfree. Today, I present it to you simply, because when it comes to celebrating, I think of all those who will share my table; And I dont want anyone to go without eating from my menu.

Food coloring most often uses artificial dyes that we dont want to consume. And often when dyes are used the colors are not as vibrant. For this reason, I recommend these dyes that are of my daily use.

1. HOW MANY WAFFLES DOES THIS RECIPE MAKE?

It honestly depends on the type of waffle iron used. I used the Breville 4Slice Belgian Waffle Maker and was able to make about 8 big square waffles.

2. EXPERT TIPS FOR PINK VELVET APPLE WAFFLES:

  1. Color: Cook the waffles until they are deep pink. It took me about 6 minutes on my waffle iron.
  2. For a healthier version: replace the butter with coconut oil.
  3. Types of apples to use: Fuji, Honey crisp, Gala, Jonagold, Braeburn olden delicious are all great choices.
  4. Use glutenfree oats to make it glutenfree
  5. Blender: Any blender such as Vitamix or Nutri Bullet can be used.
  6. Place the cooled waffles in a ziplock bag and freeze them for several weeks. My favorite way to reheat them is to put them in the air fryer until they are hot and crisp. Ideal for weekday mornings!

Ingredients

  • 6 egg whites

  • 2 yolks

  • 2 grated red Honeycrisp apples

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla essence

  • 1 1/2 cup flour

  • 1/2 Tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 Tsp baking soda

  • 1 pinch of sea salt

  • 1012 drops of pink food coloring

  • 1/4 cup Almonds flakes

TOPPING



  • 1/2 cup cream cheese room temperature

  • 1/2 cup sugar glass

  • 1 Tsp vanilla

  • 3 Tbsp milk

  • 1 bottle sprinkles for throwing on the topping


Instructions

FOR THE PINK VELVET APPLE WAFFLES



  1. In a blender, we place the ingredients in the order of the list.
    We start with egg whites and yolks.

  2. grated red Honeycrisp apples.
    The essence of vanilla.

  3. Finally, the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
    You are going to add the coloring little by little until you get intense pink.

  4. Once the mixture is integrated, let it rest for about five minutes. 
    You will notice that it will thicken and be ready to pour into the waffle iron.

  5. If you do not have a waffle iron, you can choose to make them in the form of pancakes, they will still be delicious.

  6. Serve them with butter, maple syrup, jam, or drizzle topping that is delicious.

FOR THE TOPPING



  1. To make a cream cheese drizzle for your pink velvet apple waffles, simply whisk together roomtemperature cream cheese, and confectioners' sugar, and add the vanilla extract.

  2. Then, add the milk, a tablespoon at a time until you get the thick drizzling cream consistency you like.

  3. Put on top of your waffles and finish with the almonds flakes

Notes


  • You can easily double this recipe if you want more servings.

  • To keep the waffles warm while the rest of the batch cooks, you can place the cooked waffles on an ovensafe plate in an oven set at 150170°F for up to 20 minutes.
